J frame, holster recommendations > Smith & Wesson

Looking for advice for holster recommendations for a j frame (642). I think I would need both an inside of pants type holster as well as a pocket holster. Thanks.

For a pocket holster look up Kramer holsters. They are spendy but well worth it

Just heard from Blackhawk today. Their CQC Serpa holster is due out soon for J frame guns. They include both a paddle and belt loop. Great holsters for $45

I have a Galco UDC (or USA, I can't remember which model it is). Tuckable and really unobtrusive.

I use a plain old Uncle Mike's for pocket and a Desantis Cozy Partner for IWB.

I use a Milt Sparks pocket holster for mine. Unless it is lost or stolen it will last a lot longer than I will.

For pocket carry try a Desantis Nemesis. You can shell out a fortune for a leather holster from a name, but the Nemesis will do the same thing for $20. Actually, it'll do it better since it will stay put on the draw.

Andrews Custom Gunleather for a pocket holster. You can get by with an Uncle Mikes but the Andrews stuff is nice.

I'm using a Desantis Nemesis. Works pretty good for the price.

I have both the Uncle Mikes j-frame pocket holster and hte DeSantis Nemesis... the Uncle Mikes holster is FAR superior.

Ahern pocket holster x2 for me. The first one is still going strong at 10+ years and the second one is just a backup. Too bad he stopped making holsters a few years back.

Any quality name, leather pocket holster should work well. I prefer one with the rough side out so it stays in the pocket during the draw.

For IWB, an Uncle Mikes "Sidekick" #1 Simple and inexpensive, but it works.

I use a #3 Uncle Mikes pocket holster. It is smaller than the Nemisis and cheaper.

I have a Mitch Rosen pocket holster that my 340 is in EVERYDAY, very nice for $50

just had Lou Alessi make Connie a Bodyguard shoulder rig for her J frame.......think she is gonne love it, know i love my bodyguard for my P7M8

Robert Mika's pocket holster is really inexpensive and simple, using that rubbery stuff sewn on the outside of the holster, to keep it in the pocket. You can get this stuff in craft stores and woodworking stores too, if you want to sew it on your own holster. My only criticism of it, is that it is flared at the top, and really requires Dockers, or some sort of large pocketed pants, to make it really work the best. www.frontiernet.net/~akim/
