My wife held a M-60 ladysmith at Cabela's last weekend and now she wants one.  I was looking for a good price on the web when I came across a pic of a M-65 ladysmith.  I can't find much info on the M-65 let alone one for sale.  Are they identical except for barrel lenght?

The M60 is the 5 shot "J" frame in .38Spl. The M65LS is a 3in. round butt "K" frame 6 shot in .357Mag. The 65 is one of my all time favorite handguns, but it is a good bit larger than the M60. (Same frame as the M66 and M19)

No, the small model 60 is .38spl only, there is also one in .357 mag as well. Yes, I know it's confusing.

The S&W web site shows a 2", a 3" a 5" and two engraved models all are listed as 357/38 spl. Is the 38 spl model 60 an older version? I've never seen one.

Unless I'm again doing a CRS, there were two Model 60s, one a J-frame & the other a K-Frame in .357mag????????????????????

This is the one my wife saw and liked. The tag said M-60LS, it is a .357

The model 60 was the first stainless steel firearm, came out in 1965. For years they were .38 Specials. Somewhere in the last few years someone decided it would be a good idea to enlarge it slightly and chamber for the .357 Magnum.
