I carry mine in a QVO Tactical pocket holster. When, I wear cargo shorts, golf shorts, office type pants. Now some of my jeans are a little more tight in the pocket area which prints the gun. So, I either carry IWB appendix or in a M-tac sling bag. Depending on the planned activities. Some of my jeans are a little more loose in the pocket areas and I can pocket carry it without printing. Just depends on the brand/style of jeans you wear. I will add that if you use a kydex type pocket holster. Make sure to practice drawing it from different types of pockets. You have to plant the hook in the top corner of your pocket as it being drawn. With jeans it hooks with almost no thought. Now some looser/larger fitting pockets like cargo shorts you have to make sure the retaining hook hooks the pocket. After you do it a few times it's pretty easy. |
| How popular do you think the manual safety model of the BG2.0 is compared to the no manual safety model? It seems there are several here who have them and I find that somewhat surprising. To those that have the manual safety can I ask what your reasoning was specifically? Was it for the added layer of safety for pocket carrying? |

| I have both safety and non safety versions. My wife carries the safety version because she wanted to have the added layer of perceived “safety”. Turns out it’s so stiff (even after hundreds of activations) that she doesn’t use it. Like the above person said, it will never inadvertently engage so it’s a non issue. |

| Thank you for the replies. Interesting, when I went to my LGS, they only had the non-manual safety models which was what I was looking for. If the safety was actually ergonomically usable and not impossibly stiff, would you be using it? Or do you like the fact its pretty much non-existent basically and can be treated as one without? |
| If there is an aftermarket or upgraded safety lever that has some sort of paddle that extends outside of the frame, I might pay for that. For this gun I personally wouldn't choose a safety but since it has one, I would see where it goes. The trigger is great on this pistol btw. |

I always wondered how people are getting the safeties to manipulate on this pistol, as well as, the older bodyguard and shield pistols. I am not a manual safety guy outside of cocked and locked carry, but I could never get the above pistols' safeties on/off without two hands. I agree the trigger is great on the Bodyguard 2.0 and I would not change a thing. That is not the case of my M&P2.0 even with the new flatter trigger. It unfortunately had the worst trigger I have ever experienced and had to go the APEX route (which made it brilliant). I am a bit perplexed why S&W did not use something like the manual safeties found on their Shield EZ pistols, which is much more akin to the paddle lever you are referring to. |

Was it for the added layer of safety for pocket carrying? The BG 1.0, for as unlovable as it is, fit the bill perfect for belt clip carry. Extremely long, heavy trigger. Manual safety that was workable. A long trigger is fine but the reset is so long you can go for a smoke break between shots. The 2.0 is light years better than the 1.0 but I now realize what made the 1.0 shit also made it the best clip carry in my opinion. 2.0 trigger is too good to clip carry im thinking. I almost wish the 2.0 trigger was heavier. |

I got the safety model as I was planning to throw it in my pocket for carry and it does work well (if it isn't broken like mine), it is easy to throw off in my opinion and if for whatever reason I am in a situation where the gun is wrestled away and the bad guy picks it up, may not know to flip it off. I have read of police getting their sidearm taken with the gun being turned on them with the only thing saving them is the bad guy not knowing to disengage the safety. I also thought if I don't want to use it, I can keep the safety off. As of now, the safety doesn't work on my bodyguard carry comp. It was stiff, I worked it up and down while sitting on the couch watching TV, and now it is so loose that if you put a little down ward pressure, it doesn't stop the trigger from going rear if pressed and will drop the striker. The safety is not pushed all the way disengaged when it can do this, just a little pressure down. I'm going to call S&W to fix it. If I was to do it again, I may lean toward non safety model. It doesn't have an ingress point for lint or dirt. |

Mine is the safety model non comp. Have the gallowway trigger that is going in tomorrow, also the hogue handitall for the bg. Just tooooo small for the paws. Bit of bite, it's a lovely bit of fury and hate to get across "FUCK OFF!". Just a sticky holster and pistol front pocket or hoody pocket. Mainly wear duluth firehose cargo shorts. But then again I carry a RIA Tac Ultra 1911 with ease concealed, or a m&p 2.0 4.6" 10mm concealed. Vedder comfort tuck. |
More than a year after I started this thread, I picked up a Carry Comp model without external safety today  My first impressions are very positive: slimmer than I thought and very lightweight. It makes my P365-380 feel like a tank in comparison. I'm not a big fan of the blacked out rear sights though. Does anyone sell rear night sights? |

Just a follow up. Overall still impressed, still going to swap the trigger. Still going to put the hogue on it. Need to locate some grip extensions for the 10rd. Oh and yeah the 150ish roud break in thing, really is true. Aftet 150 the safety is super slick MUCH easier. |
| I pocket carry with the safety. I have little kids constantly jumping/crawling around me so it makes me feel better. Safety is easy to manipulate off with a thumb while keeping a grip on the frame. |

IIRC there has been some people here who did not like the wide notch on the 2.0 rear sight and have changed the rear out to a 1.0 rear which has a narrower notch. So there is that. |

I think the seller caught on to why people were buying them cause he only had it posted as a bodyguard 1.0 rear sight but now has it as both. |

I’m really interested in seeing this pistol in the flesh as I’m tired of chasing the CCW dragon - a process that I’d be embarrassed to say how long I’ve been working on. This little S&W looks really promising. |

Just picked up the comp safety version (the only 2.0 they had) I actually like the sights and my safety is stiff but not horrible to a deactivate. On the unboxing my only small complaint is the reset. I need a good pocket holster and and iwb along with some defense rounds. Thinking about critical defense and possibly even some quality hardcast but I don't know much about 380 other than hp rounds aren't as effective as a similar size 9. Eta- What's a good place and price for spare mags? If anyone might know |

I finally got my mitts on this pistol - $399 from that big central Virginia gun store with the green roof - you know the one. I haven’t had an opportunity to shoot it yet, but I am certainly impressed by the design. The idea that this tiny S&W has only just one less .380 round then a pistol I have always liked and regarded as a high capacity gun, the beretta 84, is just nuts. High marks to the engineers at S&W. |

So been carrying a G48 for the last few years and been looking at the Shield on line as a change. Would like to stay around the same size/length as the 48. Do not need the safety, hate the backstrap safety and no need for an optic. Being in commie Wa, I am limited to ten rounds, but I can work around that once I figure out what I want to buy. I need to get in and hold a few, but anyone here switch from the Glock line and or the G48 in particular? Thanks.. |

The shield x (I think that's the model) seems about the size of the 43x/48 and I think holds more rounds. Mags pretty much keep me a Glock guy especially after spending $100 on 3 BG2.0 mags. But the S&W seems like a great lineup and I like the BG2 I only got because I wanted something a little bit smaller than my 43x and 365. It really makes those tiny guns seem huge. I'm pretty much set on carry guns and full size for that matter but I'd look into S&W if I ever wanted to get away from Glock for some reason. Also I didn't read the thread much but what ammo have you guys settled on? I do have some hardcast+p BB on the way only a couple boxes. I have some silver tip and hst low recoil that I got in a trade a while back but I'm thinking about critical defense. I only plan on testing the buffalo bore to maybe carry for the last half of the mag and I'd like to have a hundred or so rounds of something good to test, carry, and keep a couple boxes on hand. |

Sportsman's Warehouse had a sale on their "exclusive" OD Green Bodyguard 2.0, so I picked one up. I quickly cleaned and oiled it up and then took it to the range. I bought some ammo at the range which was a brand I never heard of (can't remember what it was) and had 3 or 4 light strikes in the first 100 rounds. Took it back home and did a more thorough job of cleaning it, especially the barrel and recoil spring. Picked up 200 rounds of Winchester target practice ammo and to my delight, no light strikes. I ran four mags of my carry ammo (SIG Elite V-Crown) without a hiccup. What a great little pocket pistol. Very shootable and accurate. My carry guns are now both S&W (my other gun is a CSX E-Series 3.6).

| I installed the Galloway Precision -10% guide rod/spring and went out to the range yesterday, functioned flawlessly. After 200 rounds or so I'm confident in carrying it. It really does hit the sweet spot of size vs capacity. I love the flat faced trigger and the tritium front sight/blacked out rear. |

I’m interested in the BG 2.0. I’ve got a LCP II for pocket carry currently. But it isn’t a “fun” shooter. After a few mags at the range I’m ready to set the snappy little thing aside for something else that I brought. I tried a G42, but for me unless I’m wearing really baggy pants/shorts it’s not that great of a pocket carry. Compared to the LCP. How is it for shooting compared to something like the LCP? |

I took my BG comp to the range for the first time and put 50 rounds of 95 grain through it and found it a little snappy ,my surprise was when i put 10 rounds of RIP through it and there was basically no recoil i was blown away by how little recoil there was . |

When I saw this post last weekend I had to order a fiber optic set from them. I never liked the wide factory rear, so I originally bought a 1.0 rear of eBay. It was better from a target shooting standpoint, but it was much too narrow for anything else. I just installed the XS sights and think these are the way to go - for me. The rear notch width is basically right in the middle of the factory and 1.0 rears. Here are some measurements I made: 2.0 rear = 0.195" XS rear = 0.166" 1.0 rear = 0.127" 2.0 front = 0.134" XS front = 0.130" |
| I carry mine AIWB in a Vedder Light Tuck using a single DCC clip. I also carry a spare mag AIWB on the other size of my torso. I personally have no issues with it flopping out, but I am rather slim up front. I do think carrying the spare magazine on the other side helps the whole set up print less. I bought the BG 2.0 to primarily carry it AIWB and have been doing it every day for months now. |
