Picked up a shield a couple months ago, and finally made it to the range with it today. Also wanted to try my full size M&P with the tlr-2 I recently picked up.

In any case, first mag I try to drop the slide on the shield by the slingshot method. It does not go into full battery. I pushed it forward with my palm and everything after that went smooth. Second mag I tried the slide release and it happened again. About an 1/8 of an inch out of battery which was a no-go.

At that point I decided to switch to my full size. First mag I try to drop the slide and it doesn't fully seat itself. Damn....

Repeated the process a few times with the same results. Pulled out my xdm and had no trouble with the out of battery, but then had trouble with the slide locking back after the last round in the mag.

"Light bulb!"

I recently picked up more than a few hundred rounds of the brassmaxx ammo, which I decided to use today. Switched from that to some different ammo (Aquila, federal and golden saber (woo for hp's)). No more problems after that.

Anyone else had similar issues? I have a good stock of this left, which is good enough for range work, but wanted to see if anyone else had similar issues.

I ran 100 rounds of brassmaxxx (tulammo) through my Beretta yesterday for the first time without a hiccup.   I should have tried it out in the M&P9c as well, but I didn't bring it with me to the range.

I've put at least 600 rounds of brassmax through my G19, no issues. Not sure if I've shot any through my M&P's, but I don't have a Shield.

I was in a class not long ago with a guy shooting that ammo.  He had some problems with it in a Glock 34.
