Your pistol looks the same as mine [purchased a year ago] and you are traveling down the same road.
The accuracy will improve as you get used to the pistol. Furthermore, my M&P smoothed out a lot in the first 1000 rounds making it much more docile. I also had the problem of getting hit in the face with mties. [That's empty cases for the socially illiterate.] I called S&W Tech Services [800.331.0852] and described the problem. They e-mailed me a call tag and UPS picked up the pistol the next day. About 2 weeks later my pistol was back. It now dumps the mties about 3' to the right of my right foot. Good enough. In my [never to be humble] opinion, a pistol should only touch your hand when shooting. That is why they call them handguns. The reason for this is that the gun begins to move in recoil before the bullet gets all the way down the barrel. If the gun is touching something hard it will not move the same way as it will when you shoot it by hand. That means the end of the barrel will not necessarily be pointing the same way. Learn to shoot hand held and you will end up a better shot. Others will have their own opinions and that is fine. This works for me out to about 600 yards. Get to know your M&P and you will come to really love it. It is a tremendous pistol. Hardbawl |
| Thanks man. I have another 1900 rds of ammo to get more used to it at the moment. I've been told ejection will fix itself after a 4-500 rds as it is a stiff spring. If not ill send it to Smith. Ill take your advice and shoot it offhand instead and compare it to my HK45s |
