I have been looking for some night sites to fit my shield, but nothing I can find.... is even listed to work on the Shield.
I have seen a few guns in the photo gallery that has some night sites on them, but.... cant get any info? Can anyone help a brutha out? Spoiled by my Glock 26 and her glowing beauties |

See, I want regular trijicons, not the new HD ones. They don't make those for the Shield yet they are the same as a regular m&p Thats not exactly true...My local guns store was putting in a set of TFO's in my 40 shield and because it doesn't fit in the M&P sight pusher they use a mallet and they ended up breaking the tritium vile in the front and it had to go back to Truglo for repair. They initially said they would not do it because they were installed on a gun not ok'd for the sights but the did as a one time thing. Great service had it back in 4 days. |
| Where were they hitting the sight with a mallet? I lightly tapped mine in with a punch and not problem at all. And yes they are the same dovetail as the m&p's but the rear is just slightly wider, ever so slightly barely hang off the side of the slide. Not noticable. |

Your gun store screwed up and blamed it on the dovetail. |

The front dovetail at least on my gun is super tight even with the factory sight. |

Unless they put the punch on the sight itself instead of the base. I can't even tell you how many sights I have had to file to size. Not all the sight companies make the sights to the exact size. If your gun store had a competent armorer/gunsmith, he/she should have known to test fit the sight first for tightness before wacking away at it. |

The front dovetail at least on my gun is super tight even with the factory sight. Every gun will be super tight in the dovetail. It's how the sight stays in place during violent recoil. If your dovetail isn't machined perfect, chances are the rest of your gun is going to mess up as well due to other quality issues. The shield sights are a tad narrower but will fit. We are talking hundredths of an inch here |
