My m&p22is starting to run like a turd.

I'm on am iPad so I'll be brief.

It's problems, I've tried 3 kinds of ammo so it's not the bullets:

Failures to extract at least once a mag, the slide stays forward and is hard to pull back.

Stovepipes.

Failure to strip off a round.

Slide won't stay back on last round.

Any ideas? I'm thinking it's going to have to go back.

It's cleaned and lubed and I've tried federal auto match, federal bulk, and winchester  555.

It won't run anything more than 10 rounds without a problem, most failure to extract/slide doesn't even move back at all.

It's 2nd most common issue is stovepipes, probably 5% of the time. Same with failure to strip off a round.

About 50% of the time the slide won't lock back. Around 2500-3000 rounds through it.

Thanks.

Forgot to mention the failure to extract/slide move is on the first round about 90%of the time.

If it happens in the middle of the mag, it will happen about 3-5 bullets in a row.

I'm lost

I know you've ruled out ammo, but try this-  CCI Tactical
It was designed for that rifle, and it's the most accurate I've tried by far.  Also, it has a lot of wax lube all over it, presumably to help it run in hot semi-auto rifles.

My bad, it's the 22 pistol.

And it ran fine until about 2000 rounds.

It would fail to strip off rounds or lock back on empty sometimes, but it ran pretty good until now.

Oops, nope, my bad.   I read 15/22.  But I had similar trouble with a Buckmark.  I know, different animal, but something to check.  I chambered an empty shell and pushed the slide back with a cleaning rod through the bore.  Low and behold, the rim of the brass barely touched the magazine ear on the way back.  I had two mags, one of which I bought separately, and they  both did it.  A couple of file strokes to the mag ears and it runs like a champ.

Mine was doing the exact same thing about a week ago, turned out to be bad batch of ammo.  It was doing it with Federal 550, which is all I have run in mine since day 1.  Problem started on my 3rd box through it.   I ran a box of mini-mags through it without a single problem, half-way through the box switched back to Federal and had same problems, back to mini-mags ran perfect.   I then switched to a different lot of ammo and its running fine again.  I could tell when the gun wasn't or hadn't stripped the next rd by watching how far it ejected the shell.   Try a box of mini-mags and see what happens.

I tried 3 brands that had all ran fine before. I don't want to run expensive ammo through it, defeats the purpose

I was just sugesting trying a box of mini-mags just to see if it's the gun or the ammo.  Like I said I tried the mini-mags then went back to a diferent box of Federal 550 and not had problems since.

Ohh, I see. I'm sending it back anyways but I'll try the mini mags and see what happens
