Was having all kinds of cycling problems today at the range.  Sometimes it wouldn't eject, but mostly it wouldn't strip the next round off of the mag.  Took it apart and cleaned and inspected everything couldn't find anything that looked wrong.  Was cycling it by hand and slide would bind up every now and then and would stay locked back without the slide stop.  This gun has worked flawlessly for the last three weeks with more than 1000 rds through it.   Anybody got any ideas?  Guess I'll be contacting S&W tomorrow.

Is the little black bushing installed with the guide rod and the recoil spring?  I forgot to put mine in once and had all the same issues you did.

Checked and its there.  Did notice mine doesn't go on like the instrutions say in the manual.  The instructions say slide the spring over the guide rod, then the buffer over the spring.   My buffer goes on the guide rod first the the spring, wont go any other way.

Clean the magazine.
With most blowback rimfires a certain % of that gray gritty crap goes down into the mag.
This may not be your present problem but is something to check.

I use no oil on a mag but after cleaning I will hose it down with silicone spray . I think the bit of silicone left behind helps but doesn't leave
anything wet for the dirt to stick to

Mine fails to strip the round off everyone once in a while, happened probably 10 times out of the 550 brick I shot this weekend.

I'm going to get some more mags and see if they do it too, I'm hoping its just a bad mag,

it fails to lock back on the last round sometimes too

Don't really think its the mags.  Two of them were brand new, and the slide was binding and locking back without a mag inserted.  I have noticed a few wear marks on the slide, rail, and hammer.  Can somebody take and post a few pics of there hammers and underside of slide where it rides across the hammer?
