I'm considering getting a 4" barreled Model 66.  I'll be using it for home and camp defense.  I'll probably be shooting .357 about 10 percent of the time and .38 Special for the rest.  What do I need to know before I put my money down?

Feel the edge of the side plate to make sure some asshat didn't pry it off. Should be an almost unfeelable seam. If it was pryed off the guy didn't know what he was doing and may have monkeyd with the guts. Make crane is straight and that the timing is on and it locks right.

Model 19 / 66 is a wonderful handgun.

What he forgot to mention in the video is to look for excessive gas cutting on the frame above the forcing cone.  Hot loads will gas cut and a steady supply of them will make a gun unserviceable.
