Does anyone use a mag extension from TF or anyone else on there compact 9 or 40 during Concealed Carry? I have been thinking that I would rather have a few extra rounds if I am using the extra space on the grip rather  than using a finger extension. Thoughts? Pics? PIE?

I use an X-Grip.

Another vote for the X-Grip. Two caveats: Careful not to pinch your gun hand fingers/palm when doing reloads and the X-grip can loosen over time (a touch of friction mentioned in another thread works great).

Why not just carry the full size instead of the using the mag extension on the compact? The grip is the difficult part to conceal, so you may as well get the benefits of the full size slide/barrel if you're going to have to conceal a full size grip anyway.

Because at work I don't care if it shows so I throw in the full size mag. Once I get off work I swap out the full size mag for the short one.

Easier than carrying two guns.

Thank you. I looked at midway earlier but I was thinking that it was a mag w/extension sold together. So I'm guesing I need to get a standard 17rd mag and add the Xgrip extension, right? Cool, thanks for the help, I had a little retard going there.

Yes. Get an X-Grip and a full size mag and you're GTG.

Well I have a Xgrip and dont really care for it while CC. If I wanted to carry my full size I would,  I am looking for something more like a 2 round extension from Mecgar, I just found out about it, its simular size as the finger extension plate from smith but that will add 2 rounds. GR sells them for the mp mags

Well just an update. I received two Mecgar plus 2 extension from G&R. I am completely happy with the end product. I added two rounds of 40 S&W while keeping the same size as the factory finger extension. If I had a 9mm I feel that the extension would give you 3 extra rounds.   The mag extensions fit perfect, drop free and lock the slide back 100% of the time so far with factory springs. They match the grip of the gun very close but just a tad bit off. Range test yesterday included 146 rounds. They were each 100% with Federal 96 rounds of 180 grain walmart ammo, and 50 speer gold dot HP 180 grain. Pics of the mags and components.

They lock up SOLID. I dropped the loaded mag  directly on the base pad from standing on the dirt while at the range and nothing happened.

Interesting... Hopefully these pan out better than the Arredondo extenders I wasted money on.
