Manual says rotate 1/4 turn in either direction and pull down.
Mine is moving about an eighth of an inch and that's it. I don't want to force it anymore.
Suggestions....

work it back and forth. Make it to 90 degrees, you win.

They can be a real bitch, just keep turning, you will not hurt it. once you get it 90 degees pull it out

Mine was really tight at first. I had to use a screwdriver and pry it out a couple of times but now I can pull it out with my fingers.

After trying on the other grips, turns out the one that was originally on it is most comfy
