Does anyone make one? How hard are they to install?
I love my 21a, but it's not reliably setting off some (most) brands of ammo. I've tried CCI, some PMC 'zapper', Winchester, and Rem. 'golden bullet' - I'm getting frequent misfires with these. A second pull of the trigger does the job most of the time. I don't think it's the ammo - I don't have any problem with it out of my 10/22. About the only think it likes is the Remington 'Thunderbolt' - it was pretty much 100% with that. I don't think cleaning is the issue. I thought it was at first - I had problems last time I was out, so I gave it a thorough cleaning before today's session. The first rounds I fired were CCI Stinger's and had multiple light strikes within the 30 or so shots of the stingers. Most would fire with the second pull of the trigger. I then tried some CCI mini-mags - same issue of light strikes. Could it be the firing pin? I took a close look at it when I got home from the range today and cleaned it - it seems to be moving freely, but only protrudes a small way. Could the spring channel be gunked up? It looks like it's held in place by a tiny roll pin, so it should be easy to pull out. Any advice? |
