I need to order a few high cap mags for my 92FS, are these any count? www.topgunsupply.com/ACT-MAG-Beretta-92FS-M9-9mm-17rd-magazine-BLUE-pr-195.html |

I've never used those mags, but MDS mags are cheaper, and just about as good as you can get (besides the new sand resistant ones which cost a lot). MDS are considered factory mags, they just aren't produced by the PB division of Beretta. CDNN - MDS Mags |
I own many mec-gar mags, however, I would say the MDS mags are just as good. Mecgar does make some extended capacity mags, which are nice. For plain 15 rounders, I prefer the MDS baseplate compared to the MecGar. Either MDS, MecGar, or PB marked Beretta mags will be good. |
I'm fairly certain that the Taurus mags have a different catch slot. CDNN sells MecGar mags for the Taurus. www.cdnninvestments.com/929mm217mane.html |
Taurus and Beretta started out with the same magazine catch, in the 1970's. It was a heel catch at the bottom of the left hand grip. Beretta was the 1st to move the catch to its current location, in 1982/83 By 1985 Taurus followed suit, but by then, they had become different. The Taurus magazine catch cut out is slightly larger then on the Beretta. If you have a Sh*tload of Beretta magazines you have two choices: 1) Enlarge the cut out on the Beretta magazines so they will work in a Taurus 2) Buy a spare Taurus magazine catch and file it so that it will take unmodified Beretta magazines. If all you want is Taurus mags, look here: Taurus PT92/99 15rnd and 17rnd Blue Steel Flush Fit Magazines by Mec-Gar. LEO marking $19.99 CLP-532 Taurus PT92/99 9mm 17Rd.
