My brother pointed out this pistol to me - Anyone have experience with it? Thanks

I've had one in 9mm for about a year.
Can't say that I'm that crazy about it.  After about 300 rounds the slide no longer locks open after the last round in the magazine is fired.  I've tried using different types of ammo but nothing helps.
Can't say that I've had much luck with accuracy either. I know I've heard from a few people on this forum praise the px4 for its accuracy but I have yet to experience it.  Don't get me wrong, the accuracy isn't horrible, but for a full sized handgun I was unimpressed.
All in all I think it's an okay pistol but I'm planning on selling mine soon.  I don't really see the need to hang on to it.  It's too large to be used effectively for concealed carry and doesn't live up to my accuracy expectations.
Will probably replace it with either some type of 1911 or Hi-Power for range shooting and a small Smith revolver for carry.
For me I feel like I would be better off to have two pistols for separate rolls than having one pistol trying to fill both.
I know I really sound like I'm bashing the PX4, but that is not my intention. I'm just trying to answer your question as it applies to me personally.  For the money it's not that bad of a pistol. However you may be better off buying into a used one or testing one out before you buy in case you don't like it.

I am really pleased with my PX4, it's one of the most accurate .40"s I have ever shot. Reliability has been 100% from day one. If Beretta would make this model with a frame mounted safety and cocked and locked carry mode like a CZ it would be almost perfect for me.

I love my PX4! I did add a custom SS guide rod to help with muzzel flip. The plastic rod (to me) is the only weak part of the gun. Beretta said they made them plastic instead of metal (including the M9's Millitary) to prevent them from getting bent, cusing the guns to not opperate. THe plastic would just bend and continue to opperate. I won't be slamming my PX4 against any rocks so I had one made of Stainless. The rotating barrel is the best feature. It helps me with accuracy. I shoot it much better than my old M9.

I've got one in 9mm and love it!  It's true it doesn't ccw easy but I don't think that was the idea.  I do carry mine iwb so you can do it.  I think it shoots great but wish the trigger travel was shorter.  Also I've put 6 or 700 rds through mine and can assure you the slide always locks open.

Love mine. FWIW I have the .40 version. Never a single problem.

Friend of mine has one that I've shot a few times.  She loves it, and I thought it was okay.  I prefer my 92fs, but the PX4 was just fine.

I carried a 92F as a duty weapon for several years and was happy with it. I think the PX4 is a whole different level and thinks it's a superb pistol. It is the softest recoiling 9mm I've shot and just feels right. I saw the new compact and the 45 at the NRA convention and have already ordered both from my dealer. The 45s will be out in August and the compacts later this year.
