Is the BERETTA Model 92S worth the buy?
I see them popping up from time to time and they seem like they would be a nice collection to my Beretta family. Anyone have any experience with them? Are they worth the current asking price? |

Depends on the asking price....but...
They are totally worth it as a non-serious use pistol, and will fit nicely in your Beretta collection. My 'like-new' 92S really is pristine. I bought my it for $320 shipped on GB. The seller told me he got it from Southern Ohio Guns, which they are still selling for $330. The only thing I don't like is the almost non-existence sights. The bottom mag release doesn't bother me much as a range gun. |

I own one, not one of the newer imports but an early 80s Berben import
the sights as posted above are non-existent the magazine release at the lower rear corner of the grip is slower to use than one in the typical position aft of the trigger guard, however its not as terrible as a catch on the bottom of the grip Beretta also sells a kit on their website to retrofit the newer style locking blocks to these. The kit looks like it comes with the block, plunger, and plunger pin |
