Have an old (1988) 92 with an ejection issue.  Has a tendency to chuck brass at my forehead.  So far I have:

- de-gunked under extractor
- upgraded to 15lb Wolff spring
- installed Gen 3 locking block

Symptoms improved a bit but it's still a problem.  Ideas?

What type of ammo are you using?

Has the recoil spring been changed?

Remington UMC 115gr - most eject slightly forward, occasional whacks to the head

Blazer 115gr - moderate whacks to the head/collar

PMC 115gr - almost every case hits my face

I picked up some 124gr NATO today, but haven't tried it yet.

Recoil spring is a new Wolff 15lb (+2) unit.  With the original spring, cases were coming straight back off the slide and hitting my glasses.

I will bet with the full power ammo it will be fine. Many 9mm's show erratic ejection with the weak bargain loads.
Fwiw the velocity on the economy 115 is about 150 fps slower than the NATO ball with 124 grain bullet

Also check your ejector pin has not broken.  It will be the pin that protrudes on the left side (looking down) with the slide all the way retracted.

What is the condition of your extractor?  Still have a sharp edge inside and no chips?

You may want to also replace the ejector spring.  If it's weak it will not grab and hold the case firmly to give it that nice right hand pull as the ejector hits it on the left.

I don't think it's the ammo.  I've shot those brands before and not experience this issue.

At least it's ejecting.

I would consider pulling the extractor and cleaning.  Your post made it sound like you cleaned it on the slide.  But I think the ejector suggestions are good too.  You might also want to try a new, standard 13# spring.  I don't really see a reason for a 15#er.  But I'm no expert.

I had a similar issue....I wasn't running it with enough lube.  I started using terra grease and no more issues.

Clean it. The same thing happen to one of my brothers pistols. Take the ejector out and clean the area where the spring is and it will cure it. Its pretty simple just take to pin out of the bottom to the top of the slide and the ejector will come right out. There are youtube video showing how to do it. Good luck
