I have a 96 centurion I bought new many, many years ago.  Recently accuracy has gone to crap.  I cant hit the broad side of a barn with it.  I can put it down and hit 4" metal plates at 20 yards with XD40 or Smith 45 (I don't think it's my shooting). What can go bad and cause this?

Thanks in advance

Barrel crown dinged or burr.
Crack forming at locking block wing.
Crack on slide.
Frame rail beat up where locking block travels.
Cracked barrel.
Build up of lead within barrel.

Take a look at the tacked post on how to check for wear in the Beretta forum here...

I assume that since you have owned this for a long time ,that it was previously accurate for you, correct? Have you recently switched to a different brand of ammunition or bullet weight in comparison? How many rounds have you fired through the Centurion and have you properly maintained the pistol as well?

Round count in the ballpark of 1000, it was previously  accurate, the hand load that shoots great in other .40's.  I will inspect and post pics if I find anything suspicious.

Thanks again

Leaded barrel.  It didn't look bad until i started scrubbing.  Shoots much better now.  I had one small batch of semi wadcutters that were particularly hot.  I guess thats what did it.

Thanks
