Tell us more.  Would love a detailed review with comparison to other pistols.  I've often considered a Px4, but don't know that it does anything that my 20 other handguns don't.

I have the PX4 in 9mm, full size with the safety/decocking lever.

Love this gun! Fits very well in my hands, ultra reliable, never had a failure to feed or a failure to fire. Holds 17+1, and is still relatively light. Factory tritium sights, grooves on the front as well as rear of the slide. Fires very comfortably and is very accurate. I have personally hit a beer can at 85 yards with my first shot.

My wife wants the PX4 subcompact in 9mm. She shoots the hell out of my fullsize with no issues. She can do speed reloads, fire weak hand with it as well as reload and cock it with one hand.

Cool little note on it: the safety switch/decocking lever is grooved where it meets the slide. This allows you to catch the switch on a belt or side of your shoe to cock one handed...... Cool little feature I like.

Now I wouldn't go giving it the Glock torture test, but as a carry gun, it would be fine.

I carry a PX4 storm .40 for duty and all I can say is I would never waste my money on one. We have had lots of trouble with ours. The whole dept. (1200+) had to send all our guns back to get the magazine wells rehoned because the mags won't drop out. We also had trouble with some of the magaznes not feeding so Beretta sent us some new magazines only to find there is trouble with them too. All that said the gun is accurate and feels nice in your hand.

I have heard of issues with the .40s. There was a recoil spring problem too IIRC. Supposedly Beretta tried to use the 9mm spring for the .40 to save money. Just word of mouth I heard.

I rotate my 3 mags, one loaded in weapon, one loaded with rounds, one stripped and relaxing the spring.

Never had any problems with mags not dropping clear..... Everyone I have shot with who fired my PX4 was impressed. Even the polymer 'haters' who think guns should be nothing but steel liked it.

Nope...

For the full size guns, there are a total of three recoil assemblies. One just for 9mm, one for .40 and .45, and one for just the .45 (the last one is for the SD, which is a double spring design; also is $55 compared to the others that are around $15).

Beretta did a similar setup with the PX4's recoil springs as they did with the Cougar. The 9mm is different from the others, which all used the same (with the Cougar, add .357 SIG to the .40 and .45).

Only issues with the .40s I've heard of were due to trigger sting... which was on a small number of early models. I have not heard of anything since then, and I know a few investigators in a neighboring Prosecutor's Office that have been issued that model for a while. No complaints, and was my reasoning for buying my first PX4.

My PD had issues with their .40 PX4's.
I asked what problems they had to a patrolman and he said they were defective (I asked 4 times and got the same response).
My 9 is fine....no issues.

Mine is very accurate, I can get pretty nice groups at 25 yards, which I've only been able to do with .22 target pistols previously. The only thing I want is a fiber optic front sight, everything else is just right. Superb ergonomics compared to a glock or ruger, and the PX4 just looks so sexy! (Did I just say that? )

I have a PX4 .40 and love the gun. About 1800 rounds so far and never an issue. I love it so much I am thinking about getting the 9mm OD version I saw at academy last week that came with 2 extended mags.
