| okay, so I have a 92a1, and the recoil spring has me confounded. Beretta told me to get spare assembly's from Brownells, Brownells is out of stock, and they cost 50 bucks. Is there a way to take the assembly apart and just replace the spring? Is there a way to convert it to use the regular beretta 92 spring/guide rod setup? Am I gonna have to bite the bullet and buy 50 dollar replacements? If I can take it apart, does it just use the standard weight recoil spring. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Get this - http://guiderod.com/index.html
It comes apart and ANY Beretta 92 spring will work in it (they make one for the 92A1) |

Just get a standard 92 metal guide rod and spring and your GTG. You'll need to take apart the captive assembly (which is easy to do) and keep the small metal ring that is on the front end. This ring will need to stay in the guide rod channel when using a standard Beretta guide rod since the opening in the slide is bigger than standard. I changed mine shortly after buying my 92A1 with zero problems in about 1,500 rounds now..
There's a topic about this over at the Beretta forum: http://berettaforum.net/vb/showthread.php?t=75081 |
