Can one put a 92D slide on a 92F frame and it function correctly and safely?

What are you trying to do?

W/O changing the hammer, sear and sear spring, and release lever, all you will have is a TDA pistol without any ability to decock or make safe.

Thought so..trying to get DAO but kinda had the idea there would be a little more involved than swapping slides out. Thanks for the info!

You can convert the FS into a D, but you do more than swap out the slide.

Push the sear pin out of the frame and let the sear and sear spring fall free.

Replace the Sear pin (just as a plug)

You can also replace the decocking lever with a spacer, but without the sear it isnt necessary.

You're better off having a armorer or gunsmith do this. But those simple steps will effectively make it a D frame, with every tigger pull being double action.
