| Are the new 92 FS 17 round magazine longer than the 15round magazine? Can I convert my 15 round mags to the new 17 round mags? |
| I wonder how they do this because I was looking at the Mecgar 18 rounders, but these extra high capacity flush fit mags worry my because they must shorten the follower to get the extra rounds in there and this would over compress the spring as far as I know. I wonder if the mag tube geometry is different at all. |

I wonder if the mag tube geometry is different at all. We have been using the Mec-Gar mags in the wife's 92FS with no issue at all. In fact, the reason why we went to the Mec-Gar's is to try and solve a feeding issue with JHP's, etc. They did completely resolve that. The only thing I have found is that when we shove 18 into the mag you have to lock the slide back in order to put the mag in the gun. Other than that I definitely prefer the Mec-Gar 18 rounders to the factory mags. |

The Mag Baseplate is taller to make it sit flush with the bottom of the Magwell. There's a post on the Beretta Forum that clearly shows this. Beretta1526 confirms it. |
