| Just wanted to put an update here, Beretta USA sent me a new M9 with a new barrel. There was a friendly letter included from a nice Lady stating that they replaced serial number X with serial number Y, and if there are any issues, give her a call. I guess they found something else wrong, and just replaced it. No one ever posts when things turn out well or someone in a company is actually pleasant with them, so ill take this opportunity to post a pleasant ending here. |

Good for both of you, IMO. Glad they took care of you & glad you passed it along. I'm somewhat mildly surprised they didn't just fit a new bbl & allow you to retain the original S/N. Quicker of the fixes to replace the gun, perhaps? |

Yes, glad it worked out. I am surprised that you did not have to go thru an FFL for an entirely new serial number... This is common with a new replacement from the mfg. I had a new Beretta Police Special with the small badge on it and sent it back in.......they shipped direct back to me a standard 92FS. Not the same but I was happy. |

That's good to know.
I just got a new M9A1, and the slide is chipped in two places around the extractor. This happened pre-finish. I'm debating whether to just live with it, but part of me worries the slide is somehow more brittle, and the two chips happened during normal milling out of the extractor recess, and I should contact them. I'm disappointed it got past the QC. |
