| I've been shopping for a pistol for my sister for my sister. she recently had an attempted break in while she was at home and decided that she would like to get a pistol and learn how to use it. I found a used SIG SP2009 for $429. It comes with 10-rd magazines which makes me think it was produced while the brady ban was still in effect. I was looking for some input on this particular model. I know SIG has a great reputation and I have always been pleased with the SIG's I have shot, I just don't have any experience with this model. Thanks. |

My wife got a nice 2009 a few years ago for $425 a few years ago and it came with 4 standard capacity (15rds) magazines. Unless the gun in question also has night sights, you may be able to do better. I do think that it is a good gun that is easy to shoot and has nice, simple ergonomics. |
| I have the SP2340 (the old .40 version), bought in 2004 for $385 new...put a few thousand rounds down the pipe without fail. Quality weapon system, seemingly unappreciated at arfcom. Think some of it stems from some 'smiths not making any $$ doing trigger jobs on them. Just stay away from the DAO versions. |
