My local gun shop has three Sig police trades in left. I'm not sure of the model numbers because they were busy and I was looking through the glass. From the tag I could determine that two were 357 Sigs and one 9mm. All had night sights but probably aren't effective anymore due to age. I'm guessing each is pretty old because they do not have accessory rails. All are double action only with no decocker. The slides were stainless and the remainder of the gun blue. They come with one magazine and no box. All are showing signs of heavy useage and or wear. The price is $349.95. I've wanted a 357 Sig for some time now but didn't have the funds for a new one. Do you think it would be worth getting one of these tomorrow or keep saving cash for a new one. They all look like full size guns so I'm guessing a model 226 or 229?.
Thanks. |

Most police trade ins have worked well for many of us.
I had a German police trade in 220 chambered in 9mm - quite an older one. Little holster wear and barrel had crisp rifling. Great. However, I would avoid any that show heavy usage in the barrel or excessive holster wear. |

Read the sticky on Sig pistol inspection, and examine the pistols at the gun store. If you do decide to pick one up, be sure to buy a Sig spring kit for about $25. Where can you get this Sig spring kit? One of these? http://www.gunsprings.com/Semi-Auto%20Pistols/SIG-SAUER%20%28SIGARMS%29/P-220/cID1/mID4/dID6 |
