I have an older 226 made in W. Germany and it has developed some "looseness" in the slide from side to side. When the mag is empty w/ one round in the pipe the slide will rattle a bit when you shake the weapon. This rattle goes away when there are rounds in the mag. What gives? |
| The bbl to slide fit seems to be much more important to accuracy. Accuracy gained from a vault tight slide to frame doesn't seem worth the reliability risk. I think SIG designed them with the perfect mix. As long as your sights are moving with the same relationship to the bbl, who cares about a little slide slop? It insures a few specs of sand in the grooves won't shut you down. |
