| So for my next handgun purchase, I'm getting either an Hk USP45 (possibly tactical), or a SiG P220. Now, magazine capacity, weight, accuracy, and size seem to be in the USP's favor. Both feel good in my hand. Now, considering that this is for a future CCW (can't CCW yet... few years), is there any reason at all to get the SiG over the Hk? |
| Tough decision. I would lean towards the P220, it's thinner, it fits MY hand better and I much prefer the trigger over the HK. The DA/SA is the best in the business. I own a HK USP .45 stainless that I bought in 98. It's a nice weapon, but the trigger sucks....I hate the DA pull on it, long, heavy and gritty. I guess you can still carry it cocked and locked, but I find that it is a better range gun for me, than EDC. Both are big guns, but the HK is definitely bulkier and has more sharp corners. |

I would have to agree, depending on your frame. I am 6'2 with meat hooks, so the USP fits just fine, and the 220 needs a Hougue slip on to fit better. The 220 is defintely slimmer. However, the finish can be hit or miss from what I have experienced firsthand and read elsewhere. For carry, I would choose the USP, just for thats what I already have, definitley not a summer gun though. The 220 would serve you as well. Best bet, shoot both, whatever feels more comfortable, purchase it. Yes, the USP is a bit wider, but to me not enough to keep me from strapping it on. Good luck! -Redfoot |
