| I have a sig P229 that i had a dud load. The bullet was stuck in the barrel. I took a punch to beat the bullet out of the barrel and when i did i hit the edge of the barrel with the punch and it put a big bur on the barrel. So I was wondering if there was a way to get the bur out and if not and i have to buy a new barrel, i was wandering what you guys would recommend for a new barrel and what type of riffling would be best for shooting lead cast bullets. |

If you have marred the rifling, it's curtains, imho. There are no barrels produced for a P229 with rifling unsuitable for lead bullets. |

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Now got to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a piece of brass rod to keep in your range bag for the next time. I had a round get stuck in my P226 and a guy at the range had a brass rod with him. I put it in hte muzzle end and hit the end of the rod on the concrete slab a couple of time and the round popped right out. After that I went and got my own brass rod 7mm in diameter and cut a few 8' lenghs off of it. One for the range bag, one for the work bench and I gave one to the gun club.
Come to think of it I still have some of that rod left. Send me a PM and I will mail you one. |

Not to sound silly - but I've always wondered about this.
How hard was the bullet actually "wedged" into the barrel? or in other words How much effort or "beating" was required to extract the bullet. I know it'll be hard to put into laymans terms for us to understand but was it like pounding in a framing nail or something? |
