I recently acquired a Lasermax guide rod from the EE for my 229. It did not come with instructions and my search came up with no answers to the following....
1) Do I have to use the spring that came with the Lasermax or can I use my factory spring? 2) Mine came with a washer, where should that go? I assume between the spring and end cap? 3) I found out that the rod needs to be put in one way due to the spot being off the line of sight. It is alot better now, but is there a way to dial the laser in more? 4) The supplied take down lever is a bit sloppy and can be manipulated an 1/8th of an inch up and down when in the handgun, is this normal? Thanks in advance!! |
| I have one that came in a used Glock 17 I purchased. I didn't even know it was in there until I got home and stripped it for cleaning. It doesn't have a washer on it though. I have noticed that the laser points a little low and left from actual POI. If I adjust it a little by spinning it one way or the other it will line back up but eventually goes back to the low and left position. The battery cap end of the lasermax is worn a bit, probably why it moves around. The take down lever does move like you said. You can't adjust the model I have, website indicates that it is meant for hitting center mass at @ 20 yards. |

I didn't watch the whole thing but this may help you

I was able to find pics online that show the washer inplace, it protects the end cap from the spring so it doen't get gouged. My dot is low and to the left also so I guess that is normal. I got a deal on it, so i can't bitch too much. Thanks again!! |

It appears the Glock is just drop in because the end cap is circular, where the Sig must be indexed correctly due to the end cap being circular but having two flat sides of different heights. Thank you though! |
