I got a buddy that just got a Mosquito and was telling me that the mags are pretty expensive.

I have a P220 Combat but never bought mags for it, where do you guys get your mags at?

SIG mags are still a bit more than the mags for most pistols though.

i looked at mec-gar's website and didn't see any mags for the p229 in 9mm. i did see 'em for the p228 though. is it true the 228 mags will work in the 229 guns?

I prefer 226 Mec-Gar 17 rd mags with the X-Grip adapter for the 228/229.  Provides more capacity than a stock 226, and (at least in my case) actually makes the gun feel better in hand.  Kind of hard to find 17 rounders anymore, though, since Mec-Gar came out with the 18 round mags.  The 18 rounders don't work with the X-Grip adapter - too long.  The guns carry pretty well with the X-Grip as well.  Here is one in my 228:
