The 2022 is a great gun and a great bargain.I have always said it is sigs best kept secret and that it is the only polymer framed gun to actually beat glock at its own game. You will be hard pressed to find a (stock) smoother DA pull than that of the 2022. All that being said it is not a 226. The 226 fits in the hand like no other,as long as your hands arent too small. If money is no object I would go with the 226.
good question. I am interested in that also. And also i am trying to decide between the 2022 & the 226....thoughts would be welcome on that too. |
| I carried a 2340 the a 2022 (both 40) for 5 years at my old dept. i now carry a 229. I loved the 2022. Glocks dont fit my hand right. I never had any problems with my sigpros. stay away from DAO versions though, unless you are a revolver shooter. DAOs are a long 12 pound pull. THe DA/SAs are sweet though. |

I bought my first gun two months ago, and it's the 2022 in 9. I absolutely love it! I really wanted a 229, but couldn't afford the price tag. I was on the SIG website and stumbled upon the 2022. After seeing how much it goes for, and not seeing one bad review or forum post on it (and I did quite a bit of research) I feel it was the gun for me. I did have two jams with in the 1st 100 rounds, and that was the only issue. I've since put around 1k through her with no issues. I've got a big hand, and it's very comfortable. It has a smooooth trigger and is as accurate as I can get it to be The take down lever/pin was a little tricky at 1st, but it became better after a few cleanings. You will not regret buying it! |
| I read somewhere that the take down lever could back out . I had it happen to the one I had and although the slide prevented it from coming all the way out ––it still jammed the pistol. Although the pistol shot very excellent , I personally could not trust that wire spring holding that in place. If you bent that push out take down pin hold in wire , it could be a problem at the wrong time and you may not even be aware of it being bent or weakened. Traded it for a 226 for that reason alone. |
| I like mine, shoots super smooth and pretty accurate. It is a polymer but feels like a sig. My only problem is I've been shooting glocks so long that I'm not really used to the SA trigger and I tend to prefer the take up of a glock / xd style setup. Great gun and super nice. |
| Can't beat it, low price or not. I have owned and shot the crap out of my 2340 (FYI-same as 2022 w/o PIcat. rail) durable finish great double and single triggers.....Switched to it from a Beretta 96G elite, so the trigger seems light to me. Also have a two friends that have them. Both like them, but the one who has the DAO wished he would have gotten DA/SA. Both report good reliability. |

Took mine out the other day, 170 rounds, only one failure to eject. No other issues. Had the pistol for five days now.
As for handling, it does seem top heavy to me, but I've I'm coming from a 1911 (got the Sig cause 9mm's cheaper to shoot). The lighter frame weight makes it feel like it's jumping more than other 9's I've shot, and it probably is. I did get a stainless guide rod today, and it feels better now, but I haven't had a chance to shoot it with that in place yet. It does have easily the best DA pull on any semi I've handled so far, and the SA has just enough take up (feels like a two-stage) for me. Top it all off with the fact that it looks and feels 3,000 times better than a Glock... well, I'm happy with it so far. |

Or google it when the drunks quiet down...
