I just purchased a 229 Elite to replace my standard 229, and noticed that the guide rod on the Elite is ABS/Plastic? WTF?
This is my duty weapon and I would much rather have a steel rod. Does anyone know if I can just swap rods from my other 229, or is there a better replacement for the new gun. I'm sure the new plastic rod is suppose to be good, if Sig put it in their gun, but i would rather not take any chances. Does anyone know why Sig would do this? Is it something special for the Elites, or is this the wave of the future for Sig? |
