I know some don't like to read all the way through long posts, so I'll start by getting to the point:

Do SIG Pros (either of the 9mm models) suffer from the same horrendously-long SA trigger reset as the SIG P22X-series?

Now, some background... back when I was in college, I had a friend who had a SP2009. I was rather impressed by its accuracy and handling, and made a mental note to consider picking one up. As it happened, a deal on an early West German P226 came my way, so I ended up with the "classic" SIG instead. Fast forward to today - I'm now shooting USPSA regularly, and have just started shooting IDPA as well (still prefer USPSA, but hey, it's still fun). I have been drifting away from my SIG since last fall, when I picked up a Beretta 92FS, which I have been running in USPSA Production for most of my recent matches. Tonight, at an IDPA match, I decided to bring the SIG back out to have a go. I soon discovered how very long the SA reset really is. As it stands, I don't think I'll be buying any 'classic' SIG without a SRT from this point on. But I started to think back to that very good experience with the SIG Pro. In fact, I had been thinking about picking one up when I bought the Beretta. I haven't really been actively looking to pick anything new up since then (beyond my always-present "need" for more 1911s). But now, I'm considering picking up a SP again, this time to "replace" the 226, in a certain way at least. The thing is, since I wasn't shooting fast-paced drills back when I tried my friend's SP2009 in college - and because I don't know of anyone with a SP here now - I have no idea what the trigger reset is like. Yes, I suppose I could track one down to try, but I'd rather have an idea of what kind of reset to expect before I go to the trouble of sourcing a SP2009 or SP2022. (I do know, for example, that there are usually a few that pop up at the local fun shows, but that would mean waiting for another to roll around to even know if I should be considering this course of action).
