Just got back my custom P220ST and decided to try it out. Had a trigger job and Mag na porting done. Also installed tritium sights, finger grove hogue grips, wolff custom gun springs, and a harrts compensator. Went over to a friend’s house to try it out on some steel reactive targets. Had a bunch of Remington Golden Saber's, Wolf .45, and some older cci/speer 200 grain hp's (flying ash trays). Both the hp loads shot fine. Head shots at 50 meters were not a problem, and there were no malfunctions. When I switched to the wolf that changed. Every other round or better failed to extract. Accuracy was fine though.

Any ideas what is up with the wolf? I switched to Winchester in the meantime. 40 more a case, but it works fine.

MY GOD!

DO NOT SHOOT WOLF AMMO IN THAT BEAUTIFUL GUN!

Does the Wolf ammo use a steel case like their rifle ammo? If so, I would NOT use it at all.

I recommend you shoot only UMC, American Eagle or USA brands (the big 3 generic brands)or better in that thing.

Did you try the gun before doing the mods?

Just curious. I'd shoot the gun without the mods and then add them one at a time and note any improvements/problems.

AWESOME gun though. I'd love to have one.

I think Sigs are the best combat pistols made.

Wolf runs fine in some high quality guns and not so well in others. Has mostly to do with chamber and breech dimensions of individual guns vs so-so QC of specs on the ammo. I run copius quanities of it through my AKs, but refuse to use it in my handguns or my ARs. I would stay away from it in the 220 if it were me.

Wolf uses steel lacquered cases.  Ok in an AK or SKS.  Otherwise best avoided.  Watch-Six

I recently took my new 220ST ( w/ night sights ) to the range.  What a great gun!  The out of the box trigger was outstanding, I was able to get pretty good at the double action first shot after about 100 rounds.  I had a 50 shot group at 15 yards be about 6 inches.  Not bad!

A great gun!

I have the standard P220 (there is nothing standard about a SIG). I love it more than my wife. Your rig sounds nice! We want to see pictures!

I'll check into posting pix. Never really looked into it but have needed to do it a few times so I should learn. And yes, you don't drop over a k on a pistol without it hitting that sweet catagory...;)

My 220 loves Winchester Rangers in 230 JHP.  It shoots very accurately and never misses a beat.  I have found no reason to use different ammo.
