Just got a Sig P229 DA/SA chambered in 357 sig as my new duty weapon. I had a first generation same model same caliber that was ahh so so at best. This one has a rail and the new SRT trigger. The only thing I can say is WOW. I just put approximately 500 rounds through the gun and I have to say it is amazing. I never thought my sig could be as accurate as any of my 1911's but this gun is at the same level if not better. If you have the oppurtunity try one (Make sure it has the SRT trigger) and I bet you will be pulling out your credit card. Sig raised the bar with this gun.

All "Elite" DA/SA models have are SRT triggers and most classic P series guns can be sent to Sig and converted. Highly recommended! It is a whole new gun indeed. Trigger reset is super crisp and short. I am slowly converting all of my Sigs. so I can get this on my p6 also |

Yes sorry for the late reply, they come standard on all of the elite models. If you curently have a DA/SA p229 you can buy the SRT trigger for approximately $40.00 and install it yourself if you have a knowldege of guns. If not I do not recommend that you attempt it because you will not get the gun back together. The SRT trigger bascially replaces the old sear with a new one which provides a camming action thus giving it a shorter trigger reset.
I normally have negative things to say about every pistol that I own. But my 229 elite is outstanding. I would say the best of the best when it comes to a combat style pistol. |

| Ive been looking at the 229DAK and wondered what the difference (if any) is between this and DAO. I think isn't any, just different ways of saying the same thing. Do I have that right? Im going to add this to my collection of Glocks and would like an equivalent trigger. Does anyone here have a DAK mdl they'd be willing to talk about good & bad? |

The DAK has a double strike capability where the DAO does not. I had one for about three months and hated it. The trigger pull is real heavy and does not have a crisp break. I would buy a DA/SA But if for some reason you want a heavy trigger then go for it, not my preference though.

I'd rather do it myself, as I've had my P229 detail stripped and together again many times. |

For my money I would always get a DA/SA SIG. MAX |
