I bought a NIB 229 with night sights a couple of years ago.  Basically I think it's a damn sexy piece and have only two criticisms about it.  First it's too damned heavy to carry concealed...at least comfortably.  Second is the long trigger reset that requires the trigger be let all the way out to fire again.  I'm sending my Sig back to have the SRT retrofit done tomorrow.  Return time is 10-12 buisness days.  The modification is $99 and will run $35 each way to ship overnight UPS.  Pretty damn steep for a trigger job.

I'll let you guys know what I think when I get it back.

you will Love the SRT.

It's one modification that you'll notice as soon as you get the gun back, instant gratification and you should improve your follow-up shots (time and placement)

The Elites come standard with SRT and they are WELL worth the extra cash over a Standard P-Series weapon.

So I paid $50 overnight shipping to send my piece to Sig.  It cost me $99 to have the SRT installed and $35 return shipping.  I have never in my life heard of a trigger job that cost that much.  All that said the SRT makes an absolute night and day difference in the quality of this weapon.  I will be bringing my 229 out of the safe again.

Like others, I have always been critical of the poor trigger on the Sig, but now I have nothing to gripe about (other then it's weight).  The reset on the SRT is every bit as short as a Glock factory trigger...which is desirable in a battle weapon IMO.  This is an option they should install at the factory.

Owning Sigs is just expensive.

^^^  You said it brother.  Bruce Gray wants $200+ to perform the short trigger reset.  I installed a short trigger and decided to just deal with it.  Rumor has it, Sig "borrowed" the idea from GRAYGUNS.  Who knows.  On SigForum old Bruce is GOD on here; it's a different story.

My P229 trigger is FINE until I wear GLOVES

I carry my P229 40cal IWB here in SWFL
cant hardly tell Im carrying it

But ive carried for close to 20 years

BLADE TECH IWB seems to work Very well

Compared to my MILTSPARKS IWB /S&W 6906

its about the same

BOY is it accurate compared to others Ive tested

If you had the short reset trigger to compare it to you may reconsider that statement.
