I'm new to Sigs. Just bought a P226 and P229. The hammer on the 229 is loose and when dry fired has a bouce for lack of a better description. I'm told this is common to Sig. Is it really a spring that will need replacing or what? Thanks,Misc

Sounds normal. When you pull the trigger it deactivates the firing pin safety, allowing the hammer to move forward farther than usual and strike the pin and then the hammers travels back to the regular position. My 226 does the same thing.
