Anyone here own a Sig Pro? What is the general consensus reguarding these weapons? I bought one in .357/.40 and it has become my new carry gun. I actually like it more than the P229 as its lighter and the grip is smaller. Anyone own or carry one? Now that I own one, I really regret not buying one of the rare 9mm DA/SA models with the manual safety on the slide...oh well. What do you think of the Sig Pro? |

I had a SIG Pro 2009 but sold it recently. I found I wasn't able to get as accurate with it as I liked. Additionally, with it being 7.5" long and having a larger frame than my P229 and my P239, I found it wouldn't fit in my Milt Sparks VM2 IWB holster in a comfortable fashion. With the money I got selling the SIG Pro 2009, I was able to buy a used (but in great condition) P228. Now I have 3 different pistols that all fit comfortably into my VM2 holster. You can sometimes find the SIG Pro 2009 with manual safety on gunbroker. |

I've had nothing but fantastic experiences with the two SigPros I've played with. I owned a SigPrp2009, and was very accurate with it. It more than held its own against any of its higher priced brethren. Back then I was big on light rails, ans since the SP2009s had a proprietary rail, it got traded off. I wish I had been more wiser. I've played with a friends SP2022(9mm) quite a bit, and enjoy the trigger time I have on it. Its just as accurate as the previously mentioned 2009, and as accurate as my 2 P226s. When I start at my new job, an SP2022(9mm) tu-tone wiull be my next pourchase. |
