Does Mec-Gar offer mags for the P229.  I tried looking on their website and only say 9mm available?

What caliber are you looking for? There are a few places with Mecgar 9mm P228/229 magazines for like 20 bucks but if your looking for .40/.357sig you have to do some digging.  I just bought mine on monday and already have 10 high capacity mags for it for under 300 bucks.

I am almost positive that I will by factory mags only, however, I wanted to see/hear about others.  Why not Mec-Gar?  Please elaborate.

Just don't get ProMag magazines.  All of mine stick in the mag well of my P245.  They suck.

Umm, Mecgar makes the factory mags.  So take that as good.  They have a no-compete clause in the contract, they can't sell the same mags themselves.  So they DO sell 15/17rd P228/P226 9mm mags, but not standard 12rd 40/357 mags.  $30 is about as low as factory mags get.  This is the one area that Glock has Sig beat all to hell on.  But at least Sigs aren't ugly as sin

Mec-Gar makes the OEM for most of Sigs. So factory mags ARE Mec-Gar Mags
