Yes, the guys at On Point Firearms had one come in that a customer preordered. Top dollar though. I just bought a regular one thru CDNN and am sending it out to be chromed. Will be cheaper and better in the end.

potis: Thanks man, I need to get one of them.

flamered: that'd definitely be cheaper, but it's not the same thing. You'll still have an aluminum framed Sig, I want a steel framed one to keep my others company

Actually, I found a great deal on the 226 in SS on auctionarms.com auction sight. Hard to pass up the price was really good. But I really wanted a 229 not another full size gun. And besides, I did not really want the rails either. There was no choice, it was 40 S&W only - unless you want to put out another $150 clams for a second barrel.

As far as the 229 is SS, I am so tired of chasing first release guns, having to wait and hunt for them - followed by paying TOP dollar if you do find one. Or having to pre-pay and wait and wait and wait and then find it somewhere else before yours comes in! Did that with soooo many guns, only to see them drop by a few hundred bucks a few months later. But that is the price I pay for having to be the first one at the gun club with....

True, SS is not the same as chromed aluminum - it is heavier and the chrome is harder But I would have perfered it is SS if I did not cost so much and was not such a PITA to get.

I hear ya there FlameRed; I'll probably have to wait on the SS 229 myself, even though I've wanted them to make one for years. Dropped a lot of coin on AR stuff in the last week and I'm saving for a house too......
nah, I'll probably get one soon
