Got my first Sig today. MK25 non threaded barrel. Lubed and went straight to the range. Had one stovepipe and failure of slide to lock in the first couple mags but was flawless after this except for me hitting slide stop due to me being use to shooting my other handguns. I did notice the brass cases seemed look roughed up, used only brass cased ammo (federal and WWB.)
When I got home to break it down and clean I noticed the chamber and barrel seem to have what looks like some sort of really rough areas in chamber and barrel itself. Looks splotchy and irregular almost like corrosion but light in color like irregularity in the chrome lining (don't have an account to post pics). This does not clean away with bronze bore brush and solvent, it looks like a defect in the lining itself. Gun seemed to shoot fine. Anybody have any experience with this? Im tempted to see if I can just send the barrel back for replacement from Sig, don't want hassle of sending my whole gun in. |
| I cleaned it well multiple times but still present. Must be an issue with chrome itself. I will be purchasing a threaded barrel for my suppressors so I would prefer to use it with that until Sig looks at this barrel. I will take some pics and contact them today hopefully and see what they say. Kinda annoyed with this but the gun did function fine but I have never had anything like this any other handgun I have purchased. |
