Anyone using caliber conversion barrels?
Not the Sig Caliber X Change kit where you get a new slide, etc and a magazine, but the barrels which are chambered in a different caliber and fit in a larger caliber gun? IE....9mm chambered barrel for a 40 cal pistol. http://www.efkfiredragon.com/sig-sauer-p229-9mm-conv-interchangeable-with-40-sandw1.html https://www.barsto.com/category_main.cfm?ID=SSB Just curious... the Bar-Sto barrel is spendy....like close to the cost of a Caliber X Change kit from Sig... the other got great reviews from what I saw on the Sig forum googling caliber conversion barrel. I'm just looking for some responses here.... |
| I've been using a Barsto 9mm conversion barrel in my P229R for several years. Bought the gun in .40, & then added a 357 Sig & the 9mm barrel. Works fine. Since I only use the 9mm barrel for range use, I use the same mags. If you were considering carrying with the 9mm barrel, I would suggest getting actual 9mm mags and a 9mm recoil spring. Very accurate, plus it makes shooting a little less expensive. I bought it new off the Sig Forum classifieds for $180. |

Thanks for the clarification regarding the mags.
I should have been more specific... I have plenty of 9mm Sig P229 mags, I bought them in April of 13 with the intent of being able to purchase a 9mm Caliber Xchange kit from Sig....then found out about the conversion barrels.... Who did you get your barrel from? |
