Thinking of picking one up. I've watched some reviews and most seem favorable. Will also be running my reloads through it.
I particularly like the Hogue TFO version. Is anyone seeing any reliability problems with theirs? Any input would be great. Thanks |

A good friend of mine has one & I've shot it as well. Quite possibly THE best 9mm pocket rocket ever made, IMO. I strongly urge you to get the mags with the pinky rest should you get the gun. These make a huge difference in shooting control.
My buddy says his shoots better with slightly warm ammo. He uses PMC 9mm & has virtually perfect results, FWIW. My .o2 |
| I've got the sport 13 model with the tfo front and hogues. Only had one outing but it reliably fed all the garbage 9mm I tried. I like it and look forward to another session. I did install a stainless trigger and a Wolff rp hammer spring before ever taking it out. |

Went and put one in my hand today at the LGS. Much smaller than what I perceived after watching 4-5 YouTube video reviews. |

Love mine, been my edc for about 4 months now. I haven't had any issues, replaced the hammer spring with a Wolff 20lb reduced power spring and polished up the contact points a bit. Has a nice trigger pull now (much lighter then factory). I would also recommend the 7rnd mags vs the 6.. much easier to get a good grip on the firearm. My lgs had them in stock but wanted damn near MSRP, I found mine over by Pittsburgh for around what the XDS were going for.. it was a no brainier for me to get the P938 over the XDS 9mm at that price..

My .o2 Mr. Cole has said it very succinctly, indeed. I adore mine. IMO, it is, quite possibly, the perfect CCW 9mm pistol. Small, light weight, rugged as granite, accurate, and mine has eaten every load I've thrown at it, even the unpredictable WWB stuff. Do get the extended magazines, they do contribute greatly to control and accuracy, especially for those with larger hands, while not adding to the print size of the weapon appreciably. Again, it is quite possibly the perfect CCW pistol. |

I came late to the party as a few dealers had this discontinued model for around $550 shipped earlier in the year. I had to pay a $70 premium but it had the TFO night sights I wanted and came with 2 magazines instead of 1like many of the other editions. If you just want the regular sig night sights and rubber grip then pick up a Blackout model. It has regular sig night sights without the fiber optic front, hogues, and is all black instead of the accents. Fwiw, if you're like me and must have the TFOs, just checked GB for p938 sport and 2 popped up. There's one with a BIN price of 575 & 25 s/h where the guy took a mag because he bought two. The complete NIB is 650. I personally love the sport over the other models. Good luck. |

I was surprised to see so many 938's for sale there. |

The big question is, how hard are the 7-round magazines to find? If they're like P220 mags, or many other mags right now, then I know the answer. Found one local for $625 blacked out, night sights, but one 6-round mag. Might keep looking. Found some 7round mags online but they are like $40 each. |

| I picked up 7 round mags from CDNN about a month ago for $35 each, haven't seen them cheaper anywhere else. I only used my 6 round mag the first time I took it out, much easier to manage with the 7 rounder. Still can just barely get my pinky on the 7 rounder, on my Walther PPS with a 7 round mag I can get a full grip. P938 is quite a bit smaller height & lengthwise than the PPS. I haven't heard about the 20lb hammer spring mod, may have to give that a try. The heavy trigger pull is my only complaint on the 938, otherwise an excellent pistol. haven't tried any hollow point or self defense ammo but it's run about every type of fmj ammo I can get my hands on in 115, 124 & 147 gr with no failures at all. |

Anyone have a p/n for the Wolff reduced hammer spring? I don't see a listing for any 938 stuff on their site. That's because it's the 20# rp hammer spring for the colt govt/mustang in .380. You can find them here for $4.29 and shipping. Wolff springs |

Wolff springs Thanks for the link, just ordered one... |
| Just installed the Wolff 20# Colt Mustang spring, made a noticeable difference but IMHO not too light for carry, maybe 5 to 6 pound pull? Not quite as light as the factory trigger on my RIA Tac II 1911 or Colt 1911. HogueInc has a good video on youtube with procedure for replacing mainspring housing, which is only one step beyond the spring and does not require getting into the trigger itself. If you can field strip your Sig you can do this, only tool I needed was a punch for the mainspring housing retention pin. |

It's a worthwhile upgrade to the pull in my opinion for the low cost of admission. |
| I saw one at the gun show last year and fell in love with it- I paid way too much for it! I replaced the trigger and have put about 300 rounds a of a verity of ammo thru it and have had no failures of any kind. I do wish it was DA/SA like the P239, as the training to release the safety is not coming naturally to a former Glock guy. |

Picked it up on Saturday. Have some Hornady 147, some 115g, to try out. Loaded some 115's up to try out as well. Scored 4 7-round magazines, too. Might have to try that Wolff spring mod.
Looking forward to getting it to the range. Will post obligatory gun pron soon. |

It's been a fun range gun and daily carry ever since. Trigger work might happen, but OK as is. Definitely need more mags... Back to holsters: I'm ashamed to state my holster spec, but FWIW I'm (re)using a DeSantis Pro Stealth for M&P, IWB. It's a sloppy fit but secure, it covers the safety, and I can draw it fine. Not "correct" but comfortable and effective for me. Wife just got most of the CrossBreed catalog for the 238 - they're also GTG. |

If you wish to replace the P938 plastic trigger Glen at [email protected] makes one for about $40.
PS: I don't know Glen nor do I have a business relationship with him, I just like his trigger. |
|
I love Colt Mustangs and the 938 is basically the same thing scaled up with perhaps STAR BM influences too... Jury still out on mine, had a few FTF in the first couple boxes of ammo. FMJ.
I have a crisp breaking trigger but the pull is horrendous. Maxes out my trigger pull gauge which only goes to 8 and still doesn't drop the hammer. Doesn't quite feel that heavy, a crisp trigger will go a long way. Need to try the #20 lb spring. |
|
Shot mine today as well. All I could find for factory ammo was some Serbian steel case 115g so I picked up 50. Took my reloads as well. Ran about 100 rounds thru it today without a hitch.
Need to work on the groupings, but that will improve with time. Recoil was not bad at all. Felt like a 380. |

I bought a 938 in December (Hogue wrap-around grip w/7-round mag). Over 500 rounds and has run 100% perfect. 115 gr, 147 gr, FMJ, JHP, a few +P and a ton of Russian steel cased. Perfect. Like it so much I ordered another one last week ("Sport" sport model w/Hogue wrap-around and TruGlo FO front sight.
The 938 is my concealed carry gun. For those of you thinking about the same application, I'd be very careful about making ANY structural modifications in this litigious, let's-get-the-gun-crowd environment. The only change I've made is to mine is to lightly file/sand the edges/groves on the trigger to ease the bite on my trigger finger during prolonged practice. The 7-ish pound trigger pull takes getting use to, but to me a relatively heavy trigger is desirable in a carry gun. |

Need some holster recommendations other that what's been posted here already. Run C5 leather Montana XL's for my other Sig's but want something a little thinner this time for this one. Thanks I've been searching around for holster recommendations too. For some reason I haven't been seeing as many compared guns within the same category. I have a DeSantis Sof-Tuck for my Shield which I really like. Maybe I'll pick up another for the P938 and see how it is. |

http://store.dmbullardleather.com/catalog/product/b352593e235f4deab98d504e646d238bDecided on this one:
Looks like his stuff is nice. Funny how what I looked at where all made in Texas. I'll post my impressions when it arrives. Decided to try something a little different than what I currently have. For such a small and light gun I think the single clip will suffice. |

I have one that works fine and have ordered another that a little higher-end that I expect to also work fine.
What I have: DeSantis model "SofTuck" #106, IWB, tuckable, adjustable cant, J-hook What I've ordered: High Noon Holster model "Alter Ego", IWB, high-ride tuckable, fixed/no-cant, reverse J-clip |
