My CCR refinished 9mm P229 with bobbed hammer and Trijicon Novaks. Posed with my RRA Tac Entry M4/w Bushy lower.. Well, I had to use the website photo because I'm growing old on the waiting list. I'm #7 at my local distributor but he only got 1 pistol from the initial production run, so who knows how long before I actually have this in my hands.

Nice looking Sig, but, other than the finish and the wood grips, what makes it different from any other P226?

Extended magwell, front slide serations, beavertail, adjustable rear sight, repositioned decocker (which looks like a 1911 thumb safety), reshaped slide stop/release, and it appears to have 2 less rear serrations than my 226 NSW. The front sight and trigger are also different. |

It's single action only, designed to be carried cocked and locked like a 1911. First time down that path for Sig in their traditional form factor pistols (not counting the GSR). That's not a de-cocker, that's the safety. Lots of checkering, match grade barrel, etc. Guaranteed 2" groups at 50yds. Ambi safety, magwell, etc. Race gun mainly, not sure what else you'd use it for. But it sure is pretty

Can't believe I haven't posted this... Here's my new P220R that I bought to carry...  Seems SiG's are so highly regarded, my AR sleeps with one under it's pillow!!!

Great thread. I've been spending most of my time over at the AR15 side and just found the Sig section, yeeehaaa. This is a very recent pic of my off-duty 228 (1989). This weapon has been with me for over a year now and it has never even thought of malfunctioning. It has been the best pistol that I have ever owned. I cant say enough about a broke in Sig. This one has "who knows how many" rounds through it and as far as I know the recoil spring has never been replaced. The last owner, range master at local gun range, said that he put Wolff hammer and mag springs in it. Just recently it got Trijicons. This is my issued 226 (9mm) with my 228 (off duty). The 226 went through a break in period where I questioned it's reliablity, but damn it was/is accurate. It's now where I want it; reliable (broke in) enough to go to hell and back. http://tinypic.com/4ki5vk |
