Can you swap a G19 upper and put it on a G26 lower?

Thanks.

It will go on, but the shorter dustcover of the G26 leaves the recoil spring exposed.

I have no idea if it will function.

Ok, I'll take that as a no.  Thanks.

You can however use the G19 barrel in the G26 and it will function just fine.

You could also just cut down a G19 frame to take G26 mags.

SEXY!

I was thinking of doing the same thing!
How did you do it btw?

Measure the difference between the G19 mag and the G26 mag.

You will likely want to make an allowance for the back of the frame to extend down farther so that it will extend to the bottom of the baseplate.

Make your cuts leaving extra material.  I used a bandsaw but a hacksaw would cut through this like butter.

I used a belt sander to remove the remainder of the material.  Concentrate on getting the mag to seat correctly first.  You will contour the back of the frame later.

You will be sanding on two surfaces:  The bottom to get the height of the mag correct and vertically to trim just up to the vertical portion that the rear of the mag rides against.

I inserted the G19 mag into the frame and made note of how far it extends past the frame.  Then insert the G26 mag and see how much farther you have to go.  Sand and then test fit until it locks up correctly.

You will need to use a sharp knife to trim out the inside corner since the belt sander won't be able to cleanly remove all of that material.  Take a look at how the baseplate fits though.  You might not need to make the corner that sharp.   Also, the belt sander will create a fluff of plastic on one side that you can carefully trim off with a sharp knife.

Once the mag fits correctly you might want to smooth out the cut surface using progressively finer grades of sandpaper on a sanding block.

Can you do this with a G17 to G19 length? I like my G17, but it's just not as easy to conceal as the G19. Does the mag release spring go too low in the grip? Hmm, now I'm thinking. I won't be home for few weeks to check and see if it'll work. If anyone can let me know, I'd appreciate it.

You can cut a G17 down to take G19 mag or even a G26 mag.  All of the Glocks have the mag catch in the same place.  This is why a G18 mag will fit in any Glock.

I think a G17 cut down to G19 mag length would be pretty cool.  I once had pictures of one such conversion and it looked great.

Why not just go all the way?

17L cut down to a G26 subcompact grip.

You know....for pocket carry.

Is that a longslide in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?

I think the 26 is just as accurate as the 19 why mess with it.

Longer sight radius with a short grip that doesn't print as easily.

Do it the other way. Start with the G26  than add a G19  barrel. No cutting.

i wasn't crazy about the idea of a G19 cut down to accept G26 mags, but a G17 cut down to accept G19 mags would be cool! anyone have pics of this? i'm intrigued now.

I have thought the same, as the 17 feels funny in my hands but a 19 feels like home.  With the long slide and short grip, Would be perfect to take the place of the 19 that resides in the car, as concealment is not an issue in that case.
