| I GOT A NEW G19 BACK IN MAY AND IT CAME WITH THE TWO MAGS WITH IT, ONE MAG WORKS PERFECT BUT THE SECOND ONE WON'T MAKE THE SLIDE LOCK BACK AFTER THE LAST ROUND. IT WILL LOCK BACK IF YOU PUT IN THE GUN EMPTY, DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS, COULD IT BE THE TYPE OF AMMO I WAS USING. |
|
it's the magazine. somehow the follwer isn't going up enough to engage the slide stop. could be something as simple as some crude neat the top of the mag, or the follower is being rubbed against the side of the mag. excess plastic etc..
take the mag apart and check it. |

Has this been an issue since you first bought the mag/weapon or is it something recent? I would call Glock if its been an issue out of the box. When you push down the follower, does it spring back or return at an angle Is there any damage to the follower?
The manual should have info on how to take a mag apart or they can walk you thru it and help troubleshoot the problem. Quoted:
Call Glock customer service, and tell them what is going on. They will most likely send you a new mag. |

So it will lock the slide when you put and empty mag in it but not when you fire it? Is your thumb/finger riding the slide stop? +1 I thought I was limp wristing all my glocks back in the day until I realized my strong hand thumb was resting on the slide lock lever. Since you one say it happens with one mag, probably not the case, but pay close attention just to make sure that isn't the case. |

So it will lock the slide when you put and empty mag in it but not when you fire it? Is your thumb/finger riding the slide stop? I had this happen as well- I have a really aggressive grip and even now I will sometimes hit the slide stop and the sllide wont lock on an empty mag... |
| I have 14 Glocks and in the past several months I have had issues with their new mags. All my guns are Gen 3's but quite a few of my new gen 4 mags I have had to take apart and clean them out with Rem-oil and a toothbrush and some of them I have had to ever so slightly clean up a little bit of plastic from the upper inside edges of the mags and then they run flawlessly. I even bought 6 of the new 22 round 40 S&W mags and had to do the same thing to every one of them and now they run smooth as glass. Nothing more than manufacturing little issues.. It just kind of shocked me at first because until the 4th gens came out I have NEVER had a single glitch of any kind with a Glock factory mag and I got hundreds of them......No doubt in my mind that Glock will take care of you but I never sweat the small things. I have seen a lot more serious problems with a new truck that cost thousands more and just try and get their manufacturer to do something about it. Glock didn't get where they are by dissing their customers. Satisfaction is on your way....... |
