I finally got around to installing the new set of Trijicons on my G26 I received in trade from a local gunshop. My other 2 Glocks have Meps and Glock factory night sights and I have to say I like the meps the best with the Glock a close second. I am not impressed with the paint Trijicon uses as half of it came off the side of the rear sight just using the sight pusher. I hope the paint they use for the rings is better than the stuff they use for the markings. I know that you are supposed to be careful if you use harsh solvents around the sights, but I only use weapon sheild which isn't supposed to have any solvents in it. Do you have to be that careful using regular CLP products with these sights ? I usually like to wipe the surface of my guns down after cleaning and also wipe my metal sights too.

Clp will not harm your sights. I believe trijicon uses a plastic ring of sorts around the tritium vial. If you believe the sights are defective or you believe they were damaged during installation I would contact Trijicon as they have great CS.

It is no big deal losing the markings on the side, I just took my finger nail and scraped the rest off. It actually looks better without the markings, but I would hate to lose the white rings because a little CLP got on the paint.

I've used Trijicons for several years with no issues at all. I on the other hand had Meps go out in 3 years.
Trijicon vials are in a white polymer ring. Not white paint. There shold be no problem. I've had PowderBlast hit mine and it didn't hurt them.

Trijicon uses white paint (yes paint) around the tritium vials - unless something has changed recently.  CLP will not hurt them, but degreaser can take the paint off if not careful.  Ameriglo is better, they actually use plastic white ring instead of paint.

I have Trijicons on my Beretta Centurion with no problems at all and I use regular Gunscrubber which my wife also uses as a weed killer.
