| Has anyone had much experience or time with a G20? A friend has a G31 and I do well shooting with it. I'm really interested in the 10mm though. What does the G20 price range usually run for new or used? Has anyone had any problems or heard of any problems with the G20? Any input is appreciated. |

Any input is appreciated. i would recommend a G21SF with a KKM 10mm conversion barrel and a couple G20 mags. this gives you a pistol chambered for the very popular 45ACP with the capability to shoot 10mm with just a barrel swap - like having 2 pistols in one! check it out. (FYI: a KKM 10mm conversion barrel w/ 2 G20 mags will run you about $200 shipped to your door) |

I have had one for two years and LOVE it. I got a LWD .40 s&w barrel for it and while it shoots 10mm very well (it's my fifth 10mm), it shoots .40 like a pussycat.
It's the sweetest shooting 10mm you can own. I got my for $465+tax since I qualify for Glock's public safety discount, but I have seen new ones go for $500-525 and used ones as low as $450. I got the G29 when they were first introduced and love it too :) |

| i've got a 20 and 29 love them both, who can argue with 15+1 of 10mm, i've shot mine on steel at 200+ yds with about 6in hold over, stock gun with night sights, only problem i have with mine is it eats ammo!!!!!!!! GET A RELOADING PRESS and take full advantage of this caliber |

Do it. I reccommend the SF model unless you have giant hands. I carry a 20SF daily. How do you CC that? I'm thinking about getting one. MTAC @ 8 o'clock (left handed). 5'9" 195lbs - not 'fat', just wide/broad shoulders. Hooded sweatshirt or heavy button-up workshirt as cover. And always squat straight down...never lean/bend forward. ..of course, nobody here gives a shit if I print or not. |

only problem with the 10mm is ammo availability and cost- getting the 45acp plus conversion barrel makes a lot of sense The availability problem is pretty much gone now. Yea my Wal-Mart has never carried 10mm, but my 2 local gun shops shelves are full of it now. And Cabelas was running a sale on 10mm Silvertips a while back. Most all the online sources have plenty. |
| How is the chamber support on the G20? Any bulged brass after firing? Just wondering if the brass is safe to reload. Or would I be better off with the KKM barrel? I've been wanting to get a G20 for awhile, but now I'm thinking I might be better off just getting a new barrel and mags for my 21SF. |

when I talk availability I mean this:
a when we have our clubs weekly combat shoot- I can pick up my share of 9/40/45 to reload and then some. never happen with the 10mm when you realize at 830pm on a sunday you need more ammo to shoot a match tomorrow you can go anywhere ansd find 9/40/45 to solve your problem- not gonna happen with 10mm |

I dont have any bulged brass with mine and they all get reloaded without a problem. The 10mm does a great job on deer. Im thinking about getting a 357 Sig conversion barrel for it. |

Unless you reload, the 40 and the 10mm are ballistically pretty similar, aren't they?
I know that the 10mm can be loaded much hotter, but I always thought factory ammo for the 10mm was only slightly hotter than premium 40 cal ammo. Plus it costs twice as much and it's ten times harder to find. But maybe someone can correct me. |

The hottest 10mm loads are almost double the hottest .40 loads. The beauty of the 10mm cartridge is that it has such a wide range. |

Santa Maria! i hope you've quit 'considering it' and got busy 'doing it'! +1 on g21sf w/kkm 6in conversion barrel. Does the KKM use standard lands and grooves? I heard the KKM's fit quite tight and some wouldn't trust them for other than range and recreational use. Is there any truth to that? I would think going from a .45 barreled hole in the slide to a .40 barrel would give you pretty decent barrel and chamber thickness to handle the higher pressures of the 10mm. |
Sad story... I was at GT distubutors and was super happy because I had over 600 cash in my pocket and was fully prepared to buy my first 10mm (Glock 29) once I get to the counter I start to scan the very large selection of glocks looking the whole time for the 29 about 2 min into it the clerk ask "you looking for anything in particular?" I respond "yes, but I don't see it here?" ......... Just to make this a shorter story one of Glocks largest public sales stores does not even carry the 29 So I "settled" for the 30sf, eventually I will prob end up buying the 20 and getting the lone wolf conversion kits in .357 and .40 I really want to shoot some 10mm so I will prob break down and buy the kkm barrel for my new daily carry |

The G-20 slide is heavier to compensate for the extra recoil of the 10mm cartridge, if you use a G-21 and conversion barrel, heavy 10mm loads will be pounding you and your Glock. If you only use light loads, no big deal. I would recommend the 20, great gun. If you don't handload, get the .40s&w conversion, works slick. Better to have a heavy duty 10mm firing a lesser caliber with conversion, than to have a lighter pistol converted to 10mm. |
