Linky
found these on slickdeals, not to steal credit. Just thought I would let you all know. I don't have any experience with these. Half and half reviews... are these good prices? EDIT: make linky, and correct link |

Bought 2 when I converted my G23 to 9mm.
Great range mags - one caused a failure, so I got to practice drills! I would NOT use them for carry until I was able to run approx. 200 rounds with NO issues. I have heard of people taking them apart and cleaning up the edges of the plastic to make sure they run smoothly. Of course, for $10 for 2, and a mag pouch, this is one of those deals that is too good to pass up! |
|
i have 4 KCI G17 mags and 1 33 rounder that i run with my 9mm conversion and have about 1k through all of them together and haven't had any issues at all with them. i also have 2 G22 copies and they aren't so good. very hard to load and do not drop free...they function fine though. good range mags imo
those are pretty good prices. usually been $9-$12 each that I've seen most anywhere else. |

Sounds like a pretty killer deal on range mags then. I think I will have to buy a couple. Shoot wait, I need them to be ambi, anyone know if these are ambi?

9.95 + 6.70 = 16.65 the 6.70 is shipping to me. I am not worried about the time, but this is considerably cheaper then CDNN, cheapest I have seen CDNN shipping was about $5.50 iirc <shrug> |

waste of money. take the money you would spend on that cheap s**t and put it towards glock mags. good luck Is that something you read on the internet? My KCI Glock 17 mags run 100%. I use them in matches where prizes and money are on the line, and I wouldn't hesitate to "go to town" with them. YMMV |
| I've got about 15 for my Glock 17. I cleaned and sprayed the follower with a small amount of dry Silicone. They all hold the slide stop open on the last round, bit when worked by hand on an empty mag. some will not. For the range and SHTF back ups, they have been great for me. |

waste of money. take the money you would spend on that cheap s**t and put it towards glock mags. good luck You obviously don't shoot much or beat up mags with drills on the range or you wouldn't be saying this. To the OP, buy 5 or 6 of these to use on the range only and keep your factory mags in good shape for SD/HD/CCW Ignore people with low post counts who pop off with broad generalizations At less than half the price of factory mags, those KCI mags are a steal for practice use only....just don't stake your life on one |
|
I have 10 mags, 17 rounders.
They run fine but none of mine dropped free, zero. Were significantly thicker than factory mags. I sanded them down until they spec'd out like factory mags and found that on cold days they would still hang up. Plastic must have a different expansion/contraction rate as Glocks. I shoot competition and stopped using these. Won't buy anymore as it is worth more to me for a mag to work out of the wrapper then waste my time filing them down to make them right. Again, they run fine but I want them to drop free. YMMV |
| I bought 100 of each (17, 19) So far no problems in all eight of my Glocks. All hold the bolt open and all drop free. Only problem is they are stiff when loading the first few times. Great for the range and I don't worry about loosing/damaging them in the field. All my 19s are marked KCI and m7 17's are plain. Liners on the 17's are stainless. The liners look galvanized on the 19's. |

Well, I received three G22 mags from CDNN a week or so ago, and just got around to loading them. Can't seem to get more than 13 crammed in before the follower binds up tight. The follower also binds up just beneath the feed lips. ![]() That, combined with the fact that they are not drop-free, is really making it hard for me to like them. The $8 price tag doesn't seem to be worth the trade-off. JMHO. |

Have you actually used them at the range? And why do you need to load range mags up to capacity? That just wears the springs anyway. Download them by two, or to ten. The KCI mags work great in my G19. They seemed like they would bind up but when I used them they worked. They also load to capacity now, even though I rarely do so. 13 is the most I go with the 15 round mag. So for a cheap range mag that is going to be dropped and kicked around and stepped on in the dirt, the trade off is worth it. And mine drop free just fine. Most do. Have you actually used them yet? |

I own 20 of them for two different models. As stated previously, they are what they are. Some of them drop free, some of them do not. Every so often i have a hiccup with them but normally they work fine. They are great range mags if you look at it the right way. Since factory mags "normally" run as intended, you can work on your immediate action drills, "ripping" the mag from the gun when it will not drop free, etc. Saves wear and tear on your factory mags and you can't beat the price. Just my .02 |
| I bought about 30 of them and the first time I had loaded the GLock 17 mags I could only fit in 16 rounds. I let them sit a couple of days and now I can get the 17th round in each mag. They seem like solid mags but their springs I think are their downfall. Upgrade to a glock or Wolff spring and it should be like the factory mag. |
|
I bought 10 to use as range\beater mags but I was planning on upgrading 10 mags with +2 floorplates and x-p mags springs anyway so in the end, the only part of the KCI mags I used is the body and follower.
That are not as good as Glock mags and I would never use them for real but as range\beater mags they're fine IMO At $8 each, I don't see why anybody wouldn't buy at least 4 or so and try them for yourself? Just make sure you get KCI and not the other Korean made mags named Kahn. They are not the same and from what I've see, the KCI's are better. |

These mags work great in my G19. For $5 each, you can hardly go wrong.
I did upgrade the springs to Glock factory mag springs (also $5 a piece). So i have $10 into each mag, can load 15 rounds just fine, they drop free every time, and I have already won my class in USPSA Production division at the last couple matches with them. Haven't had a single hiccup with any of them, i would feel comfortable using these for carry if i had to (with the Glock spring of course, didn't really care for the KCI spring). YMMV |

Quoted: This. 15 rounds should be 15 rounds. The only time I tolerate 13 round magazines is when they're full for 45 ACP. I came up one round short yesterday at a steel match. |

I doubt one can truly get a 'feel' for how many rounds are left in the mag, especially in a high stress situation. And how many drills do you practice that require 15 rounds in a mag? I like to practice reloading. I load my carry mags to full cap, but I just don't see a reason to load range mags to that capacity, unless maybe you're doing a scoring drill of a certain amount of many rounds and few mags, such as a qualification of some kind. And why the profanity? Was it necessary to drive home the point that you don't like using cheap mags for the range?

I came up one round short yesterday at a steel match. Yes, 15 rounds should be 15 rounds. But does it really matter at the range? Occasionally I load mags to full 15 rounds during drills, and the KCI mags work fine then, as well. They are just a pain to load to full capacity. Any of the matches I would shoot in only allow 10 in the mag, anyway. I'm not sure which division it is, I haven't been down there for a while. I only remember that the other divisions had a lot of customized weapons that I wouldn't be able to compete with. I haven't participated yet, though, so I'm not sure. |
| Other than the rounds sticking in them, it seems they are made of more brittle plastic. Both of the ones I bought have had part of the base plate chip off from doing speed reloads. But they fell on the bench about two feet below the gun and not the concrete floor. |
