I have a 1st gen Austrian made Glock 23 (bought it in 1992).  I was cleaning it tonight and notice both sides of the internal frame area (before guide rod groove) where the slide strikes where cracked.  The cracks do not go all the way through the frame but are only where the slide (part that holds the recoil spring) strikes.  It appears to have only compressed and beveled the affected area.  By the way this is not the dust cover for the recoil spring but the internal area where the molded steal insert is.  I have approximately 9000 rounds through the gun.  Is this normal or should I contact Glock.  Thanks for any replies.

I would like to see pics as well. Your G23 is Gen2.

Pictures would be interesting.  While you are at it, replace your recoil spring.

Pics would be nice, but if it is actual cracks, I would call Glock.  They will make it right.
