I am in need of a summer carry piece.  The three choices I am going back and forth on:
G30
G29
G26

Arfcom, what say you?

G29

I like mine

(The 29 and 30 ARE bigger than the 26 though...)

The 30 and 29 are almost as large as a 19/23 but thicker.

Out of the three you listed I vote 19

I have a 27 so I cannot comment on the ones you listed. My 27 has a stout recoil but is accurate as all get out. What calibers do you have now and stick with that so that you can save on ammo.

I know, the only reason I am considering the 26 is I have 34 and it's super small but I'd rather go with the 29 or 30.  How is the 29 on recoil as far as double taps or failure to stop drills?

No problem with standard, warm or hot loads.  A double recoil spring makes a big difference here, i swapped mine a while back, forgot which brand.

Heavy DoubleTap or Buffalo Bore loads may slow you down a little, but you don't need the nuclear loads unless you're hunting....

I can't comment on the 29. I've owned a 30 and it was a terrific .45. With a 10 round mag in it, it has the height and length of a G19, but it's a little thicker. Not hard to carry, but not deep concealment either.

The G26 starts to get you closer to deep concealment, especially with the flush magazine employed.

I think this depends on what caliber you really want and what level of concealment you want to achieve.

With a canted Crossbreed SOB holster, my G29 disappears with a tucked in polo or loose t-shirt.

I'm 6'3" 190lb.

I say 26.  The G30 and G29 are noticeably thicker than the 26, and with the 26 you'll have a larger capacity, less recoil.

I have a G26 and a G30.  My G30 is mainly used when I am wearing more than just a t-shirt.  My G26 is my main summer gun, because I wear cargo shorts most of the time, and I can carry it in the front pocket with a minimum of printing, and it is very light.  YMMV!!!

G30 is gtg.  You can do 9 rd flush fit mags if you're worried about the extra length.

26 or 19. 34 mags and slide version holsters work for others.

Yeah I do know the mags will work.  I am attempting to fight off the 10mm fever....  I have always liked the 26 as well.  I guess I will just have to shoot the three and see what is best.

I fired the 9mm, 40 S&W, and the 45 subcompacts. Grips were to short, I bought a G23 compact and it carries real good, the subcompacts slowed my draw due to the short grip.

Whatever works best for you.

For me it's a G17, or G23.

I vote G26. I love mine.

I went with a G26, myself.  Easy to conceal, decent capacity, easily managed recoil for quick follow-ups shots, etc.

Glock 19. If you are going to add a finger groove on a 26, you might as well get the 19 and have the extra rounds.

The one thing I want in a defensive pistol that I may have to access in a hurry, under stress, is a decent sized grip.

Vote for the G19 again

In fact buy 2

I got a 30SF for my Winter gun and a G27 for my summer gun.  It is hard for me to conceal the G30SF in summer cloths.

Me too. although I am really glad I added the Pearce +0 grip extension on one of my mags.  Much more controllable and I still have a flush fit mag for deep concealment.

G26.  GAP floorplates and it's invisible.

I have a 29 and a 30 and switch it up depending on what I am wearing. At 6'3" 270 I don't have much to worry about when it comes to concealment. Both are carried small of back or with a Galco in the pants holster. Both have great loads available, fast and light 9mm and the .45 leaves big holes. Pretty much your call.

The 29 is a blast to shoot. Coworker picked one up after shooting my 20.

The 29 is 10mm, i think you meant to say 26...

i ccw a G29sf year round in a M-TAC i'm 5-11 165 and i have no problems hiding it under a t shirt in the summer, i've thought about a G26 but i'll just carry my P3AT if i need something smaller than my G29, i rarely carry the keltec anymore, 10mm gives you a good piece of mind but hey, i love 10mm!!!

Ok well I appreciate the advice, the 10mm fever is very strong and I think I just might bite this time.  I would like to shoot one first but I can never find one available to rent.

Where in GA are you?

I'm near Greenville, SC and sometimes swing down to the Hartwell area during one of many hunting seasons...

You can shoot mine if you want, just need some money for ammo
